January 5th, 2017,  Headed out again!

It’s time to go down under again and participate in the Camperdown gathering of Australian slope heads!

This is the slow time of the year for NCFM and we don’t expect heavy sales activity.  So we will be closed down until February 9th, 2017.

Those souls desperately needing an item, who are unable to wait a month, should send us an email ASAP.  I might be able to help before I leave.

September 21st, 2016,  We’re Back!

We had a wonderful three weeks in Australia and now we are back and most items are in-stock, so order away!

August 29th, 2016,  Vacation!

I’s vacation time again and we will be close for most of September.

I’m on my way Down Under to partake of the festivities at Manilla Slope Fest 2016.  Looking forward to seeing my good Aussie friends and the fantastic flying Mt. Borah offers.

Look for this website to be open for business on September 21, 2016.
If you like, go ahead and send us a message with a list of what you need ahead of time.  I promise it’ll put you at the head of the queue!

June 15th, 2016,  Kit Update

For those who wondered why we missed the June first deadline ……
As usual our suppliers dropped the ball on deliveries for certain kits.
We waited and waited, but since the parts are STILL not here (Grrrrr…!!) we went ahead and put up whatever we have on the shelves.

If you don’t see what you need (please not the Wabbit!) send us a message and we’ll see if we can put it together for you.
Right now we are chock full of Moths, M60s and Halfpipes….. We should have most of the rest back in stock in a week or so.

Matin

May 1st, 2016,  All Kits In Stock.

As promised we now have all of the NCFM line of kits in stock and ready for order.

Take advantage of this opportunity and place your order …. We don’t know how long it will last!

We’ve had a lot of inquiries about the Wabbit and when it will be available. Truth is we still don’t know.  Hopefully we’ll have a clearer picture in the coming weeks and can tell you when and in what configuration the popular Wabbit will be available again…. Stay tuned!

December 18, 2015,  End Of Another Year.

We shipped the last of this year’s orders and starting today we are closed for the holidays.

Normal operations will resume on January 1, 2016 with most items in stock.

Happy New Year!

November 8, 2015, Out of Stock AGAIN?!

Yup!….We resupplied the shop last month after out annual vacation.  But we just ran out again due to high demand.

We should have most of the stuff in a week or two….. so hang in there!

March 30, 2015, Where are the Wabbits?!

We’ve had to keep pushing the Wabbit release date back due to several unrelated, nevertheless disruptive circumstances that are all beyond our control.

We have not discontinued the Wabbit, but parts shortages have forced us to stop for a while and reassess its design.

Some parts, mostly off-the-shelf items, are not being produced by the suppliers . We have had consider redesigning the Wabbit to work

around these issues and this has taken longer than we anticipated.

There will be likely one more run of Wabbits under the original configuration before our adjustments go into production.

I wish I could give you an estimate of time but unfortunately I can’t.

So keep checking with the website if you don’t want to miss that upcoming run.

January 12, 2015, Up and Running

As feared, getting the equipment up and running took a little longer than we expected, but the dreaded move is now behind us and most of our products are available for sale.

December 7, 2014, Move Complete. Kits Soon!

We are now situated in the new shop after a good months worth of back-breaking work.  It was quite a task moving a fully functional shop to a new location after operating for 7 years out of the old location.
It will still take some time to unpack a few things and reboot the machines back up.  So we will hopefully have kits for sale within the next two weeks.

Keep checking the website and send us an email if you need multiple kits sent over.

Matin

November 7, 2014 So how come NCFM is not selling anything?!!

I’m being asked that question and it’s about time I came clean!
We posted the availability date of October, for all the kits, back in early September, before I left for my annual vacation in Australia.
What we didn’t know back then was that we were about to lose our lease!  After seven years we have to move our operations out of our present location.
So this past month we’ve been frantically looking for new shop space and that means we didn’t have time to produce anything and so we produced nothing!…..nada!….zilch!
Now, we still haven’t found a space to move the operation into but, in the past few days, we have managed to turn some of the raw material we’ve been warehousing into kits and somewhere in the middle of those kits are a few Wabbits (and I mean A FEW!)…..A couple of days after we sign a lease on the new shop space, I’ll activate the order buttons.  I’m thinking, and hoping, this would be in a week or two, but there are no guarantees.
Those who have been looking for Wabbits, and sent in their email addresses, will of course get advance notification of when that day will be via a nice message in their inbox folder!……But keep in mind (and I keep saying again and again every time) Supplies are EXTREMELY limited.  To be fair to everybody we have no choice but to basically throw the Wabbits in the air (figuratively of course!) and let y’all grab what you can!

So keep checking with the website and pretty soon the kits will be all available again as if nothing happened!

September 1, 2014- Off To Vacation!!

Yes, it’s that time of the year again, when we pack our gear and head south to Australia for the annual Manilla Slope Fest.
This means the shop is closed and ordering must cease for the month os September!

I know it looks like we didn’t do anything since my last post here, but the reason is we’ve been very very busy!

It was a very good year as it looks like we are picking up the slack after quite a few of local manufacturers either closed shop or discontinued their products.
We are going to forge ahead with new and exciting products in the coming year and hope to increase our production on some of the items we’ve been short of. So check back with us the end of the month and have a very nice September.

October 1, 2013- Back From Vacation!!

It was a good trip to Manilla Slope Fest in Australia but all good things must come to an end.
We have activated the order buttons on most of our product line.
If you absolutely have to have something that’s out of stock, drop us a note and we’ll see what we can do.
For those of you waiting for Wabbits we have good news. We anticipate having a big batch in November! So stay tuned.

Matin

September 7, 2013- Vacation!!

As is customary for us here at NCFM, during the month of September we close shop and head south, down under, for the Manilla Slope Fest in Australia.
Sorry that you can’t place orders for a few weeks……there’s nobody here to pack your order!
So hang in there. We will be back October 1st.

April 11, 2013- New Record!!

This record has to do with how long we can keep Wabbits in stock.
The new record stands at 12 days, which beats the old record by 11 days and a few hours!

Seriously folks, we are doing our best but these thing fly off the shelf as soon as we put them there.

I’m not sure when the next batch of Wabbits will be available. We are coming up on the flying season and we also have two new projects in the pipeline that need attention right away if we are to ever bring them to market. But hang in there and we’ll try to put up smaller batches faster instead of waiting to accumulate a large stock.

The new products are very exciting and even though neither one has flown yet, we think they will both be a hit much like the Wabbit.

March 30, 2013- Stock Update!

As promised we have more Wabbits for sale effective today. Hopefully the stock will last a little longer than usual so those who missed out last time can get in on this superb flyer.
The rest of the kit range is also in stock. The sloping season is almost upon us here in the states. So get your kit and get ready!

Matin
March 9, 2013- Wabbits, Wabbits!!

The Wabbit is once again in stock. But those of you who have been waiting better hurry up.
Supplies are short, as usual, and won’t last long.
The Wabbit is hand-made locally and due to certain shortages cannot be produced in large quantities.
We understand the frustration of those customers who miss out every time we replenish the stock and will do our best to re-stock as soon as possible.

Matin

November 7, 2012- It’s A Feast!!!!

That means the famine is over!
We have taken delivery of the missing parts for the Moths and Halfpipes, so they are back in stock effective immediately.
As a matter of fact we now have parts delivered for the Wabbits as well.
So they will be in stock soon, although not as fast. We still have to build them as you can well imagine.
So order away anything you want and hang in there a little longer for the Wabbits.
We can see the light at the other end!

Matin
October 6, 2012- M60 anyone?!

We have succeeded in securing some parts for a limited number of M60 kits.
This will fill the gap for the next few weeks until our regular supplier comes up with the goods we were promised a month ago.
So if you need an M60 and sent us emails about it, this is your chance.
But don’t procrastinate.  Supplies are truly limited and a lot of people have been waiting a long time.

September 30, 2012- We Wish We Knew!

For the first time in the history of NCFM, we are unable to tell our customers when we will have some of our products available for sale again.

Unlike a few kit producers that have recently opted to close shop rather than cope with the mounting costs of labor and material, NCFM is committed to continuing in its quest to bring products to the modeling community that enrich their experience.

To this end, a few weeks before leaving for our vacation this year, sometime in August, we placed a large order for parts in anticipation of a heavy work order when we come back.

We were told at that time that a certain carbon product that we use in most of our kits has been in short supply but delivery was expected in a few weeks.  We were therefore shocked to find out upon our return that no carbon was delivered and none was scheduled to be delivered anytime soon.  This was blamed on “manufacturing difficulties” by our supplier without any further explanation.  The best estimate of delivery time we were given was the last week in October.

We received quite a few enquiries as to the availability of our products while we were away.  We answered all with what we knew to be true at the time: Kits would be available for sale on October 1st.

So here we are on the last day of September, unable to fulfill that promise!

We had every reason to believe that parts would be delivered while we were away.

But as it stands now, The Moth, The M60 and the Halfpipe will be out of stock at least until the last week in October.  Other kits will be available starting tomorrow, October 1st.

There is a good possibility that we will find a way to have some limited M60s ready for sale in a week if we are successful securing some parts through an alternate source.

We will make an announcement here if we succeed.

September 27, 2012- Back From Vacation

As is now customary for us to make a pilgrimage to Mt. Borah in New South Wales, Australia, we attended the Manilla Slope Fest there for the past two weeks.
We spent eleven glorious days flying the 22 gliders we took with us as well as catch up with good friends in the camp.
The pictures we took as a record of our good times will be posted in RCGroups for all to see and hopefully serve as motivation to attend next year.

July 27, 2012- Another batch of Wabbits have left the den!

We try our best to keep the Wabbit in stock but demand is high and supplies are limited.
So today’s release didn’t take long to sell out and we’ve had to disable the order button.
I’m not sure when the next batch will be available.  A lot will depend on when the parts we have on order will arrive.
As I’m sure you know, even though the Wabbit is made right here in Carlsbad California, some of the parts come from far away and when our suppliers can’t service us, we are stuck with nothing to build and nothing to sell.
The best advice is to keep checking back with the Wabbit page or better yet, send us an email and ask us to notify you when the Wabbits have hatched!

Matin

July 17, 2012- Well that went fast!

The Wabbits set a record for how fast they leapt off the shelf.
The first batch is gone, but there’s another one coming behind it in  little over a week.
Those who didn’t get in on it this time around should look up the date and, as usual, if you need a reminder send us a message and we’ll re-send the beautiful poster ad the day before.
A good friend told me he was surprised we didn’t make a bigger deal out of the Wabbit being the first Ready-To-Fly glider from NCFM. We assumed that customers would associate the price with something more than just a kit and read the rest in the fine-print, but maybe not. So we made a bigger splash on the Wabbit page lest you forget what a great deal this is!

Matin

July, 2012- The Wabbits are ….everywhere!

As anticipated, even if a few days late, the first batch of Wabbits are here. We are, however, not letting them leave the cage just yet!!!

We need just a little more time to prepare for shipping while we polish the small manual that goes with every Wabbit.
The Wabbit is a ready to fly model and requires a slightly different shipping mode than the kits we are so used to.

So all you nice people asking about the Wabbit, hang in there a little longer and we should have them ready to go in a few weeks. Those who sent in message requesting to be notified will still be getting a reminder a few days before the release so they don’t miss out.

Based on the inquiries we have been getting we anticipate the first batch to go very fast.
So we are using these few weeks to bring up the second batch right behind the initial release.
The third batch is questionable right now as we are experiencing parts shortages from our suppliers.
We are hoping our suppliers will come through and make up proud!

May, 2012- New Models Are Here!….Almost!

As we promised a few months ago, we are happy to announce two new models. One that most of you are familiar with and one that’s brand new:

The Halfbad has been flying around for the past few years and is the creation of Troy Churchill a local designer and flier.  It has been in short supply in recent months due to circumstances beyond the designers control. But happily we’re now able to step in and take over its production and distribution.  It will be available in kit form in a few days as an answer to the prayers of its ardent fans.

The Wabbit is the brain child of Derek Choice one of the previous owners of NCFM who always wanted a smaller version of the Halfpipe to fly on the small slope right outside of his doorstep!  Some of you might have come across it while we were flight testing it during the past six months.  I won’t bring up the project code name bestowed on it by one of our good friends, but it did give us all a good chuckle!
The Wabbit will be available in RTF form in about a months time.  This is an answer to the prayers of those of our loyal customers who keep asking: “Can you build one of your planes for me?”
We felt the plane was small and simple enough that we could take it on as an experiment and see if we can make people happy and still stay in business!   You can read about all the details on the Wabbit page and decide if it tickles your fancy.

The next new NCFM model is quite a few months away, but if you see us on the slope you might catch a glimpse of it as we put it through its paces.

Till then, fly often and keep that thing in one piece!

Matin

February, 2012- Back from the Dead!

I don’t know how it happened, but this news section of our menu was out of reach for a while. It is now back online in time for us to make a few announcements in the very near future about two new and exciting models that are being added to the NCFM flight line.
One of these news models has been in flight testing for a few months now and the other is a well known model from a local designer that we will be producing henceforth.
So keep checking in with our website for that announcement. You might even get lucky and see the new model pages and their visage while we test them live from time to time!

October, 2011- Back to Work

We had a fantastic two-week vacation in Australia attending Manilla Slope Fest in New South Wales.  We will post as many pictures and videos as we can on RCGroups for all to see what a wonderful event this is.  We showed off some of our wares and picked up some ideas on what our customers are interested in which will help us set the course for the design and development of our future product line.

So now we go back to business of supplying you with the best EPP slope soarers in the industry.  The order buttons are active and the shelves are well stocked.

So order away and we’ll make sure you get your packages as soon as humanly possible.

Matin

September, 2011- Gone Flying!

As we told you last month, September is our vacation time and as of the 9th day of the 9th month, we are off for some rest and relaxation.

That’s why all the products are “Out of stock” even though the shelves are well stocked. See, there’s nobody here to ship you what you want.  So you gotz to wait!

If you can’t sit still and have to do something about that itch (the ordering one I mean!) send us a message using the quick contact on the top right hand corner of this page (see the little yellow down-arrow to the right of “Search”?) and tell us what you need.  This will be our secret waiting list. But for this month only!  When we get back in a few weeks, we’ll go through the list and remind you to place your  order.

So have a nice September and we’ll see you in the Fall.

August, 2011 – This Update is an Upgrade!

Up goes the new domain. Up goes the redesign. Up goes the redirect. Up, Up, Up!

Suffice to say that we hope you’re enjoying the new virtual digs. There are still some kinks to work out and some new features to work in, but we’ll get there soon enough.  So don’t be shy and don’t keep your opinions to yourself.  Let us know what you think of the new site and tell us how we can make it better for you. …..and no we cannot give our kits away for free so don’t ask!!!

In other news, we’ll be out of town and out of country come September for our annual vacation and shop down time.  We’ll go around visiting some slopes, maybe hangout at the Manilla Slope Fest in Australia and gather some new ideas and input from our loyal customers.

So don’t expect us back until October first. Unfortunately we won’t be able to ship out orders during that interim.
For those of you who’ll be joining us Down Under, don’t forget your Vegemite, and we hope to see you there!

Here comes round 2 and still fretting about drop bears…..

June, 2011 – Bluto Released!

The long-awaited release of the Bluto is now behind us.  It went as smoothly as expected and the boxes should be in the mail in a day or two.  Also as expected, we ran out of stock in a few hours as the available kits were snapped up at record speed ! Hopefully those who didn’t get one are not too upset. We did give prior warning that procrastination was not a good strategy here. So I apologize if you missed out but fear not, new kits are already on the way.

I know that our distributor in the UK, T9HobbySport still has a few kits on hand, so those across the pond shouldn’t have to wait long.  We anticipate having news kits available in about a week. That’s why we conservatively set July 1st as the available date for the next batch.  I’m looking forward to seeing the first build thread on RCGROUPS (or RCMF for that matter!) and hear about peoples comments.  As usual we’ll be a fly-on-the-wall and try to learn from what you have to say.

Oh! By the way, the next NCFM model to be released in January 2012 is already in development.  I can’t tell you what it is but it is small, fast and will remind you of a certain rascally varmint!!

Now go build your Bluto if you got one!
